FaItH SoNgS For His Glory Guest Designer - Dec. 28, 2011

Hello Friends and Welcome to my blog! :)

I hope you are all excited about the upcoming new year! I know I am ...and I wish you all the most blessed one yet! :) Today I have my wonderful guest designer Carolyn Phillips...she is so talented and does great stuff and I just love her tag she made the other day well she is my Faith Songs guest today so yeppers....twice this week! hehe Enjoy her creativity and give her some bloggy love!

This simple two verse hymn is by Joseph Hart, 1759 and for me is always reminiscent of this time of year. As a child I was brought up in a Methodist church in the heart of Lancashire and it was traditional for us to sing this hymn to welcome in the New Year, at midnight service, on New Years day, or on the last/first Sunday of the year. The simple words have remained with me and the reminder of who it is I trust and worship; His unending love and power; His faithfulness; His guiding presence; all help me to ensure I start the year, the month, the week, the day off right, with thankfulness and trust.
How good is the God we adore,
Our faithful unchangeable Friend!
His love is as great as His power,
And knows neither measure nor end!
’Tis Jesus the First and the Last,
Whose Spirit shall Guide us safe home,
We’ll praise Him for all that is past,
And trust Him for all that’s to come.
My project is part of my desire to get myself a little more organised, and is a simple homemade clipboard. I started with a piece of card, bigger than A4 and first covered it in small pieces of green patterned paper, using lots of scraps. Then I added a layer of vintage photo distress stain. When dry this was followed by a layer of tissue (facial tissue, separated into layers!) that had been stamped on with various stamps. All this was stuck down with cheap pva glue. When the tissue layer was dry I rubbed in some iced-spruce distress ink and added various words from the hymn with different alpha stickers. The whole thing is protected with a layer or two of quick drying varnish and finished with the securely glued on addition of two bulldog clips and a little embellishment in the form of cogs, because this is a working tool! The cogs were carefully added where they will mainly be outside of a standard sized piece of paper in the clips.

May we all know God’s goodness in the coming year.

Wow...what awesome song...and I never heard this before but I love it! Thanks so much Carolyn for being my wonderful guest designer this week and sharing your creativity and heart!! :) Hugs!
Make sure you all come back again and I am going to be making some changes to my blog and update the tentative schedule and want to do a goal of at least everyday of my blog to have something here for you all! yeppers...more creativity is happening! :) woohooo!

Faith Verse Guest Designer....Dec. 26, 2011

Hello Friends and Welcome to my Blog! :)

Today I have a very talented and sweet designer Carolyn Phillips!!! I hope you all had a Merry Christmas but I am glad it is over and hope you remember to sing Happy Birthday to Jesus!! I know I sang to him...always! hehe and now let's get to our featured designer today! :) Don't forget to give the bloggy love! Be blessed! :)

There are so many wonderful verses for this time of year, but the verse I choose as a favourite has been a favourite for many years. It is from Luke ch2 and is the beginning of the message the angels brought, “Fear Not”  Speaking directly into the immediate need, and telling of the saviour, the cause for hope, the first time the good news of the gospel was spoken, it began with the words ‘Fear Not’. This first proclamation was to deadbeat shepherds, on the edges of society, but the gospel was for them, just like it is for us. The good news of Christmas is that we need not fear because Jesus came, lived and died and lives.

My project is based around another tag, using several of the techniques I picked up doing the Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas. I used alcohol inks on a transparency and then put blending solution on a stamp and stamped it on top. I cut the tag shape out and glued it to the background. The angel was stamped and heat embossed before being cut out and mounted on sticky pads. The words are stickers and it is finished off with a button threaded with net and net/twine at the top. The whole tag has then been mounted on a card and used as a Christmas card for my daughter. (and she was very pleased with it).

Hope you have a peaceful Christmas and a blessed new year.

Wow what an awesome project! thanks so much Carolyn...much love and hugs to you gir! :) You are a blessing! :)
Thanks friends as always for stopping by and have a blessed day! :)

For my project today I made a LO telling our story of how we celebrate Jesus' birthday ...my son and I have a tradition of  reading Luke chapter 1 and then we get our favorite dessert or a dessert that we want for that year and put a candle in it and then we sing Happy Birthday to Jesus! :) It is a great tradition and hopefully something Josh will hand down to his children this tradition.

I planned on taking a picture of our dessert this year and put it in the green space.  That way a recorded memory for this year of 2011.

For the recipe of the LO: First off I used my Red Stickers from my collection to spell "Happy Birthday Jesus" then I used a Christmas printed paper from my stash (can't remember the origin of this) and sticked it...hehe..and then typed up the story/tradition on the computer as well as the other words on white cardstock then cut some red paper to pop it up a bit to stand out. Then I cut the squares from the glitter green cardstock I had in my stash for the nativity scene and the future picture of the dessert and pasted that.  The flowers I just cut three large size and then a smaller size which the smaller size I smashed them after I inked them a bit with green ink pad then I put a adhesive glitter gem for the centers and then cut the leaves and added that to the flowers then pasted to the page. Voila...easy peasy but pretty! :) Don't you think the flowers look like the Poppies? hmmm....

Now, Hippity Hop on over to Autumn To see her Fabulous Creation Today!

Here is my ornament for the hop...I had a different ornament originally and well we had an incident that I um...don't want to talk about here....so I had to scramble and make another one at 1 am in the morning of the hop...not a good time but anyways made it! I decided to forget the paper/glass one do an altered 2 inch frame that I have of my oldest son's grad pic from a couple of years ago.  Hope you like it! :)

Recipe:  I took a  2 inch frame that was already crackled and glue gunned these flowers and leaves and then I put gems on the one large flower, and the butterfly and then I blinged it with some little bling I had leftover.  The flowers were easy to make and I inked them and rolled them up and easy peasy...then I put a ribbon on the back and glue gunned it so it stayed in place and then finished! :)

I am a Guest Designer for Susan Today - Dec. 15, 2011

Hello Friends and Welcome to my blog! :)

Today I am Susan's guest designer on Susana's Corner so please give the love to both of us...I completely forgot this GD post and so I came up with something quick which makes it a nice last minute gift for anyone...and today I did a gift that can keep for all year around and you can do many things with this...I want it to be simple for a friend I am giving it to but I know of another I planned to make and I am going to bling it up...hehe...

You know those magnet clear picture plastic frames you can buy for a buck or a pack for a couple of dollars...this is what I do to give inexpesnively so that way my thought is out there...here is what they look like plain and you can put a whole lot because of the space btw the plastic parts of it.

But I choose to do a confetti cardstock and stamped some images on them and chalked it up to make it soft and then let it all dry and voila put in the frame and they can hang this on their fridge or where ever there is a magnetic feature.  Pretty easy peasy but nice for stockings and tree hangings even...something to think about the other one I am going to show later..I am going to add a different kind of image and put some bling on the plastic...oh yea...

Yep you will have to come back and see that one...hehe...

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day friends! :)

Faith Verse Guest Designer....Dec. 14, 2011

Hello Friends and Welcome to my blog! :)

Today I have my Friend Lynne Kirsch again as my guest designer...woohooo! ...hehe...she is so talented and love her creative projects and today is so beautiful! make sure you check out her blog Her Craftiness! Check her project out below and don't forget to give the bloggy love.:)

Take it away Lynne! :)

Another wonderful day in blogland as I am Kari's Guest Designer - woo hoo 2 days in a row - for her Faith Song For His Glory. I have chosen a song that I know others have sung but I love the version by Alabama - Happy Birthday Jesus.

For my project, I made a gift for Jesus as the words say, this gift I give to you -- it is the gift of Jesus.

This is a slider card using the gift package using the Cricut Cartridge Simply Charmed cut at 5.75-inches using Mrs. Claus' Kitchen Paper Stack, the black paper is from my scratch box, and I used the prism hologram paper for the bow with the bakery twine (thank you Edwina Brown) tied gift tag.

When you slide open the card, it shows my gift for you -- the gift of Jesus. Baby Jesus was cut at 2.75-inches from Cricut Cartridge Christmas Frolic. Now, I cut all pieces from scraps but I cut Baby Jesus face and blanket out of white paper and then shaded the paper. The background paper is from Michael's and is a Reflections Hologram .

Well, I hope you enjoy not only my song I chose but my special gift for you! Merry Christmas and thank you Kari and be sure to stop by and give her some bloggie love!

God Bless
Hugs and Love,
Lynne

Wow what a great idea and I love this! :)

Guest designer for Ooh-la-la Vintage Treasures Dec. 10, 2011

Hello Friends and Welcome to my blog! :)

Today I am a guest designer on Ooh-la-la Vintage Treasures and I just love their store you need to check it out and you can by going to their blog...http://www.ohlalavintagetreasures.com/ and if you love Shabby chic, vintage like I do you will love it! :)  Now lets get to it...They have a 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop...each day they have someone on their blog to give you an idea for Christmas...food, decor, wearables, hangings...so much fun...and there is a lot of cool stuff on their and oh my gosh you should check out the awesome hanging skates! beautiful if I may say so myself...but I didn't make that one...hehe...today is my time...

And I decided to make two projects since I was so INSPIRED...hehe...first one is my greenery I had....I usually hang it above my door plain with color lights outside...but this year I wasn't in the mood to do that and it is a lot of trouble...so I decided to make something for me that I would enjoy for years to come and since I love PURPLE! ...well you know I had to go with it...hehe...so I decided to go all out decorating purple and silver this year...with a little bit of different shades of purple...check it out below...

Here is my plain greenery:
Then I added the ribbon I have received from my pastor's wife that she gave me (she gave me two! so pretty!)  and then added that in to start off the color to add to it.

I got some beautiful ribbons from my pastor's wife...two rolls of purple! different designs and texture but I love them...I decided to use one of them today. And I added it to the greenery to give some oomph! so pretty! Then I took the left over ribbon that was left to make a bow and tied it on the greenery. Now it is finished with the ribbon part.

I then made some flowers to add to it so I can beautify it...hehe...and of course more purple again! different shades of it.  I show here how I made them...first off cut a square the smaller the size the smaller the flower I start out with 2x2, 3x3, and up it goes...I love making these so simple and easy peasy! First you cut the size you want...then cut the square into a circle then take the circle and cut it around its shape the swirls is what helps make it roll so you can get the flower shape then make sure you leave a base circle near the end of the cut so you can stand the flower on it after loosening it up. Then glue gun it or use a strong adhesive of your choice to keep it from moving.  Then I wanted to glitz it but ...gasp...I am um...out of stuff....oye...so I left them as they are and yep glue gun it to the greenery. (Planned later to do some glitz! what is a girl with out bling?) Then I cut some leaves and glue gun those to some of the flowers and then I added a small one to the bow to make it pop! and voila! you can hang it up on above a door post or above a picture and it would look beautiful! :)

I have done another project when I finished this because it gave me another idea when I was doing the flowers...hehe...you know that is how it rolls sometimes...

I have decided to make a pin or brooch as sometimes called....hehe...I made two more flowers and cut another leaf...cut a piece of lace ribbon and folded it in half ...then got the pin back and put it all together and this would make a great gift all year long especially at Mother's Day!
Again another easy peasy! just make sure you glue it altogether...hehe...

Thanks for being with me today and I had a great time playing with all of these flowers today...hope you come back to visit me some more for I will have a lot of other stuff to show you before Christmas so you can make some decorations for your tree and or a gift to make.  Hugs!

Paper Hoarder Design Team Post - Dec. 9, 2011

Hello Friends and Welcome to my blog! :)

Today was Paper Hoarder Design team Christmas Home Decor project...I was thrilled to be able to take part of this today...I am giving this to a friend....nothing like a pretty homemade gift! :)

My project is an altered frame: I originally was going to use a frame with glass and all but an incident happen...shshsh...btw us okay....hehe...then I decided to fix it by using a cardboard backing and then put I put a musical paper on it but first I inked it up to make it look a little old like I found an old music sheet worn out and pasted it...then I stamped some images from my favorite stamps I have from Hero Arts and they are the nativity scene and the Come and let us Adore Him and then I used a different stamp for the Christmas saying (can't remember who)  used versa mark and silver emboss and then inked it up to make it look old again...then I made some flowers and put choc pearl gems in it and then cut out some leaves to make it look a little more real...then I put gems on the bottom of the scene to give it a little oomp...next time I think I will make more of those flowers they are easier to make than I thought they would be...so now I know how to make some different ones...this will be at least 5th kind...yay! anyways put it all back behind the pretty frame that had a little patina on it and voila....a wall hanging for someone's wall! :)  (excuse the fact you can't see the emboss the lighting makes it look shiny and I have not been able to figure out how to keep it from happening...hehe.)

Hope you are inspired and to make something for someone special in your life too...nothing like giving from your heart....Merry Christmas! :)

8. Tina- http://craftyandgreen.blogspot.com  My song is Labor of Love

I picked the song "Mary Did You Know?" that is one of my favorite songs ...I love this because it reminds me that Mary was a great part of the story and can you imagine a Virgin who was picked by God himself to carry his son...what a tremendous responsibility and I can't even imagine how it must have been for her...I admire her for her faith and obedience! but like the song itself it makes you question what she really thought...interesting and I sure would love to know! I am gonna ask her when I get to heaven! :)

Here is my song:
"Mary Did You Know"

[Originally written by Mark Lowry and Buddy Greene]

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would one day walk on water?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy has come to make you new?
This Child that you delivered will soon deliver you.

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will calm the storm with His hand?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little Baby you kissed the face of God?

Mary did you know.. Ooo Ooo Ooo

The blind will see.
The deaf will hear.
The dead will live again.
The lame will leap.
The dumb will speak
The praises of The Lamb.

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
The sleeping Child you're holding is the Great, I Am

Here is my project:   I did a gift tag I am going to put on a bag that I am also decorating for someone special who is getting a homemade gift from me this year.  I love to make something and give it away... :)

Here is the recipe: I used a sizzix die tag cut (love this design!) and then I inked it up around the tag with Marvy Uchida grey stamp pad then I stamped the swirly and the nativity scene with my silver mettallic color box stamp pad and the "Believe" in my Ranger butterscotch ink pad (love this color!) then I blinged it up with some gems of yellow and clear to make it look like a star exploded over baby Jesus, making it a joyous occasion which it was! then I smattered it with grey ink with my sponge brush I love to use too...then finished it off with a yellow wired ribbon that I had ...something different but I think it is pretty. :) Hope you like it! :)

Thanks for stopping by and your next stop is: talented Dena Jones! :)

Don't forget to give the bloggy love and have a great time hopping. :) and be blessed this Christmas! :)

Welcome Friends and Welcome to my Blog!
If you are here for the Christmas Cards and Cookies Blog Hop you are in the right place but if you want to go to Christmas Card Blog Hop or Jen's Birthday Blog Hop please scroll down ...thanks! :)

Welcome to Round One of the Christmas Cards & Cookies Blog Hop! You should have come from Jennifer's blog . If you are starting here and wish to hop from the beginning of the hop, please visit Dena’s blog :  http://missdjones.blogspot.com

There was so much response to the Christmas Cards & Cookies Blog Hop that it had to be split between two weekends. This is Round One and begins Saturday, Dec. 3rd, continuing through Sunday, Dec. 4th. Round Two will be held next weekend. We have a talented group of women who love papercrafting and baking. Each of them is sharing a recipe for a yummy Christmas treat along with a Christmas card or tag. Hopefully, you’ll pick up some great ideas for your own Christmas gift giving this season. So, grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and enjoy!

Here is my project : I decided to do a simple tag to attach to the glad treat box that I am giving to a friend with my goodies which is my yummy Peanut Butter Flake Candy.  The recipe is below and its so easy I make at least 5 batches of this every Christmas....everyone loves it.  Don't take long at all and you can put the goodies in a nice treat box of your own.

Here is the recipe for the tag...I use my favorite sizzix die tag cut out and inked it up with red ink then I stamped it with some swirlys and then I put one of my dollar stamps I have found last year and stamped it with versa mark then embossed it with red embossing powder, then stickled the gems all over with pizzaz and then I also put snowflakes here with the gems and then kinds of ink spot it with my brush and then put red ribbon on it...easy peasy! but pretty...
Here is the recipe for the Peanut Butter Flake Candy.
1 cup Light Karo Syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup Peanut Butter (Creamy or Crunch) *I use them both but in separate batches...
5 cups Corn Flakes

Put Sugar and Karo syrup in a sauce pan (med heat) Bring to boil for approx 1 minute. Then add peanut butter and stir well. Add cornflakes. Stir again to make sure evenly coated. Pour onto cookie sheet and let set/cool, then break apart and put in containers. (I used the Glad containers - they are perfect! )

Thanks so much for stopping by! Please be sure to visit Susan's blog next to see what she has to share with you!

Today all the requirement was for me to make a Christmas Card...and I made two kinds for the 2 day hop...here is my first one for today...pretty simple card and the reason for that is I had to make something quick for a friend the other day.  I hope she likes it! and make sure you come back tomorrow to see a really cute card. :)

Recipe: I used green cardstock (Olive), dark yellow (Almost Gold) cardstock to fit the print paper on top of the green and cut to size to fit and then I punched a scalloped circle and used one of my favorite stamps by Hero Arts that I have and then stickled the gems on some spots of the printed paper.  Pretty simple but pretty I thought.  :)

Now your next stop is talented designer Gill.

Thanks for stopping by as always you are treasured and loved! hugs! :)

Jen's Birthday Blog Hop - December 3, 2011

Hello Friends!
Welcome to my blog today! I am several hops so make sure you are going to the right one or check them all out..hehe...thanks.  If you are coming from Faith's blog then you are in the right place but if you happened upon my blog please start at the beginning at Jen's blog we don't want you to miss a thing! :) now let's get this party started! :) and let's not forget to wish Jen a very Happy Birthday! :) Love ya Jen and wish you the best birthday ever! :)

The requirement we was to make anything birthday related....so here is mine! I decided to make a tag since I have not been feeling well and wanted to make something quick but nice that you can put with a gift.  So here is my take on it.

Here is the recipe:
I use a die cut from sizzix for this shape (I love this shape!) and I inked it up with purple...what else would I use? hehe...then I stamped some images on it with my versa mark purple ink pad and then the other color with my versa mark rose ink pad, bling it up to make it fun and yummy on the cupcake and also to reiterate the colors a bit on the cupcake I used my gel pens and stickled the cupcake frosting although you can't tell by this pic...I didn't realize I was out of my fuzzy purple ribbons...gasp...I know that is what I thought...hehe...so I use the next best close to purple till I do some shopping soon...and voila...easy peasy...gonna use it with a gift once I wrap it and that is gonna be cute! :)

Thanks for stopping by and your next stop is Gill's blog.  Don't forget the bloggy love! :) And wish something for Jen please....thanks! :)

Welcome to my blog! Today is Paper Hoarder Designer day and today we were to make a Christmas Card for the Season.

Here is my card:

Here is the recipe: I used red cardstock (Barn Red from SU) then I pasted a scrap left over print paperon top of that  (can't remember the name of the paper) then I punched two scalloped circles 1 green and 1 white then I stamped the sentiment the Merry Christmas stamp (HA) one of my faves! :) with red ink then I popped dotted it to put on top of the green which I pasted to the print paper but it needed some more oomph and not so plain so I stamped some holly leaves with berries and cut them out and popped dotted those too and then I added some red glitter stickles to it and some dots on the print too and then I put some gems I had left and put it on that spot to give it a little more dimension...hope you like the card...it was really racking my brain to come up with something that I would like with this printed paper...didn't want it to be too busy...but it turned out better after I let it dry...hehe...

Thanks for stopping by and giving the bloggy love! :)
