I am a Guest Designer for Her Craftiness Today! :)

Hello Friends!

I am a guest designer for Lynne Kirsch of Her Craftiness! :)Link....I am thrilled! :) She is a dear friend and sister to me...weLink have known each other from a previous life we like to joke...lol...giggles...anyways make sure you check out her blog...pretty kewl stuff! :) Her Craftiness at http://hercraftiness.blogspot.com/

Here is my take on the Theme she had for me...The Good Old USA...I thought I make another mililtary card for the Soldier Angels that Maria (another good friend) gave me when I did a Military Hop a while back...so here is my take on it and I hope you like it! :)

The recipe:
I used red cardstock and Miss Elizabeth papers (Dollar stores) and a ribbon ( Wal-mart) and then I punched the yellow stars out of course yellow cardstock, then I stamped the Eagle and the USA (Studios) on white card stock and cut it out for the card then added pop up dots...along with the stamping up Let Freedom Ring (Verve) then added stars to that making it look like it is going up in the air...I sort of made it look vintage with the printed paper kind of shredded...

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to give bloggy love to me and Lynne and have a great day! :)

Guest Designer Tuesday...we have two...

Hello Friends!
Welcome to my blog! hope you are having a wonderful summer so far...and thanks for stopping by and I have two guest designers on today since I have lost a few posts and having problems with blogger and comments and the like so I am giving them the showcase today! these are awesome gals...and make sure you give them some bloggy love and visit their blogs...and I hope you enjoy their inspiring creations...give some love to Gill McGill and Shannon Leffew Keith.

First designer is Gill McGill...who is one talented lady and she is very crafty! :) I am thrilled she is here to share her LO with us...I hope you are inspired by it.
  • The theme for my creation today is on "Vacation" and i have chosen to create a SB layout for a holiday in Majorca - which was the first time we ever went to Majorca where we stayed in Puerto Pollensa.
When i create a layout i like to give the readers a feeling of "Who, Where, Why, What and When" it is all about you to experience the same as me by incorporating all 5 senses into my journalling which i hope i have achieved with this. This is something i learnt when i took the SDU - scrapbooking design and u course a couple of years ago.

I have used turquoise 12x12 cardstock as my base and covered it with patterned paper where i cut with a thin layer around the edges so the turquoise edge showed. I then ripped a piece of 12x12 sand looking paper to add a strip to the bottom of the layout to look like a beachy sand scene. I chose 2 photos - one from day & one from night then matted & layered them onto lime green & pearl brown card. I used a scalloped pair of scissors to edge the brown layer to give it a nice water wavy look. I then typed the wording and matted & layered it in the same way.

I then placed the photos and wording on the layout and used a template of water, swirls & dots to cut out the shapes to represent the sea splashes. I used a sanding tool to scratch the surface of these shapes as the cardstock i used was coredinations so it has an inner coloured core to come to the surface when sanded or scored.

I then used a sizzix alphabet and cut out the letters Majorca using the big shot system where i used the co-ordinating lime green card. Lastly i then found some beachy embellishments in the form of a pair of flip flops, a shell and a pina colada epoxy sticker to complete the loo
Thanks Gill so much great job and lovely!! :)

Now for my second designer Shannon...she is talented as well and makes beautiful flowers and I would recommend you check out her Etsy shop....I have some beautiful purple ones from her and they are so pretty and I will show you what I made with it...I am behind on my posting personal creations due to some personal things and hops....but I am going to try to catch up in the next few weeks...thanks for you patience...anyways check out what she has done and you will love it!

Shannon made a lovely card and I think it is just adorable.... check it out! :)

Thanks for stopping by and be inspired today and have fun crafting and don't forget to give bloggy love! :)

Memories in Tyme

My project is a frame that I had for awhile...was going to put pictures in it but not any I have that fits it...lol...so I decided to use it as an inspiration for A Christmas sign as a gift you can give yourself or to someone else...pretty simple again...but fun...

I used some scrapping Christmas printed paper I had on hand (12x12) cut it in half and it fitted perfect for the frame since it is 6x12 anyways...then I stamped my snowman (my favorite stamp of mine) on a white cardstock which I cut out and then I used water color pencils and then I used pop up dots and then I stickled it...then I stamped some letters to spell SNOW then cut them out and taped them down on the paper, then I used my MS snowflake punch for the flakes...pop dot them as well...then place them all over and then I use white glitter to make snow on the whole thing to make it pretty...lol...I did take off the glass since I used pop dots and it makes it tight so I removed it for that to let it breathe....oh yeah forgot the embellishment is from KC comp and I love how it looks like wind...lol...

Hope it inspired you to make something similar or another idea altogether using your scrapping stuff to make something pretty and neat to hang up in your room or someone elses...thanks for stopping by...

Now you go to Elsa's blog... :)

Also to everyone that leaves a comment, please leave your name and email address so I can contact you if you are the winner. Thank you and have a great time.

Here is my card that I made and the only requirements were to make it vintage and with snow so here is my take on those:

Here is my recipe:
I actually had to make this without vintage paper...I thought I had some and didn't have time to get one so this is one of my oldies in scrap pile...hope you still like it and I use the MS snowflake punch to do the flakes and then I stickled that and then used pop dots for that, then I stamped my snowman stamp that I love and had for several years...then I used my watercolor pencils and colored my "snowman" and used pop dots on him then I used stickle on him as well...then I used a little bit of glue on the bottom of card and put a little Aleene Glue to glue the snow I have on hand for lots of winter and Christmas crafts...and then Voila! ...

Here is the line-up in case you get lost....I hope you liked my card and please be a follower and comment to win the goodies!... :)

As you can see below there are some Crystal Light Containers that I have and I love to re-purpose things so I thought for Christmas these would be cute as candy containers for some of my groups I am in like my bible study group...and then the candles you can get cheaply from dollar stores as well and they come in sets or singles and very inexpensive and who doesn't like candles and whether they are small like I am showing here or bigger you can basically do the same as I did to these....candy at the dollar store is also the best way to go for you can get variety ones for like 5 dollars and fill the quite a few containers. So this is a nice and simple gift to give along with the candles and you can get a bag and decorate that also and give it away...I have not any bags otherwise I would do it here...lol...you think I would forget that?? :) ...lol...
As you can see I wrapped them in Christmas scrapping paper and embellished with ribbons and the like and used a Circle punch for the buttons of Merry Christmas and then on the candle I used the snowflake puncher and used up the leftover paper again and along with lace...pretty simple but it looks like you took the time to give thought in it and your friends and anyone else will be impressed! :)

Well thanks for stopping by and I hope you come back again! :) Now you need to comment and then go to Elsa's blog! :)

Memories in Tyme

This is my project : I am doing something for kids in this one...I was thinking of how all the time they say I am bored or when can we eat or when can we open presents and the like and just drives parents and other people crazy at times...but they are fun...This ornament should not take more than 20 mins or so if you pre-make the flakes ...I have done this in the past and the kids always love it! and you can do it too to decorate the windows or whatever ...I just recommend you keep it out of the way of animals...the glitter and snow is toxic to them. I have had popcicles on hand for this project and use 4 stickes and make it simple...I use snow and glitter and mix it up and I put it in a flat box or plastic bin and then that is set to "dip" in for the flakes but first you should paint it white which I did with Acrylic paint and it dries fast approx 10 mins and then I paint glue on it...that way it don't get so messy with the little ones...and then you "dip" it in the snow mixture and then when all set use fishing line to hang it up and double knot it.

Hope you enjoy the snowflake! I know it is pretty simple and childlike but it reminds you to have fun and spend time with family and not get all annoyed and that it takes a child to remind you what of the Christmas spirit...I have done this for Sunday School class and they had a blast with this...so enjoy! :) See you back tomorrow for a present to give away!

Thanks for stopping by and go to Elsa next! and don't forget to comment to win the Grand Prize!

Christmas in July Blog Hop 7/22 - 7/25 (Day 1)

Hello Friends!

Thanks for stopping by and I am in another hop and this is fun...CHRISTMAS! ...I want to thank Lynda Jeffs for having me and this will be a fun couple of days and I have something for each day so make sure you come back...and below are the rules and the like; so go check it out! :)

Christmas in July Blog Hop 7/22 – 7/25

If you are starting at my blog – make sure you start at the beginning at Lynda’s blog which is http://memoriesintyme.blogspot.com/. But if you came from Kimmarie you are in the right place. :)

I decided to make a gift tag card you can put on the tree...who said Christmas has to be red and green...not me for sure...lol...I love cold man winter...so I made mine "snow" special...lol...I used the printed papers I got from a pack that I brought from Wal-mart a couple of years ago...use a die tag from Sizzix and cut two of them one you keep whole and the other you cut at just below half...then decorate with paper, snowflakes with self adhesive gems, and laquered them and the pop up underneath the flakes to give dimensions and then the stamps are from Inkadinkado and the other stamps from my local store and I used different shades of blue and I inked the sides of the tags and then I taped the half on the back where I wanted to be able to hold a gift card in the back and put strings and ribbon on for prettyness and well you got to be able to have it hold on a hook or tree...so there is that...lol...hope you all enjoy my take on a simple gift you can give

...my teenage son loves Taco Bell, and the like that is what I give him so he can go with friends and when he is tight on money this only cost 5 to 10 dollars...pretty simple and he loves it! :) but you can do this for movies and other things like cell minutes too! :)

Well I hope this gives you an idea what you can do and you could even do a whole tree for the whole family and have a contest to find there own tags....in so many mins....lol...
Now you need to go to Elsa.
