Were Off to see the Wizard Blog Hop - Feb. 16, 2012

Hello Friends and Welcome to my Blog! :)

Today we are off to see the Wizard but if you came from Lynne's blog then you are in the right but if you happened upon my blog please start at Lynne's blog because I don't want you missing a thing!! :) Now lets go down the yellow brick road! :)

We're Off to See the Wizard the wonderful Wizard of Oz to hopefully get the Tin Man a heart, the Lion courage, and the Scarecrow a brain! But there's the poppy fields to beware of as you could get very sleepy! The Wicked Witch but we know she's afraid of water. The flying monkeys . . . just totally freaky looking!!!! You're probably still dizzy from the spinning whirling twirling house and watching all those things passing by like a nightmare expecially that Miss Gulch on her bicycle! Poor Toto hiding in the basket, but can you blame him? Don't pay any attention to the man behind the curtain as he knows not what he speaks! And then there are the delightful munchkins that sing 3 octives highly than humanly possible. I almost forgot the good witch Glinda - how could I forget her --- she was just too sugary sweet to my standards but as a Good Witch goes, she was the best, but why didn't she just tell Dorothy she had the power to return all along and wait until the end - geesh! And then only bad witches are ugly --- come on now! Its the Merry Old Land of Oz! I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore Toto. . . .

We're paying homage to the Wizard of Oz today with our blog hop! So, grab your beverage of choice and those ruby red slippers of yours, click them twice and repeat after me - "there's no place like home, there's no place like home"!

We have a generous sponsor of Creative Kuts of http://creativekuts.com/ who is offering two (2) $10 Gift Certificates to two (2) lucky winners - winners will be selected by Random draw BUT you must leave comments on all the blogs today along with leaving a comment that you are visiting from We're Off to See the Wizard on their blog page, http://creativekuts.blogspot.com/, and/or like their facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/pages/Creative-Kuts/130937843644274

Also Paper House Productions 7 - piece paper assortment of 12 x 12 pieces of paper!

Today I did a frame picture frame and planned on giving it to someone in the Children's hospital...I printed off a coloring page and use my water color pencils and blender and then stickled Dorothy's shoes and the tin man (he is the only one I did use my metallic silver pencil in), then I cut the pic out and then popped dotted it and also cut out Toto to make it look 3 D affect....then I added gems as they are singing down the yellow brick road...

As every good story, it has a beginning and a happily ever after - Dorothy went home and all was well with the world and Dorothy told Auntie Em - there's no place like home!!!!!! AWWWW how sweet! Hope you enjoyed my project and I must send you along your way to Amy's blog and a place beyond the rainbow -

As always friends thanks for stopping by and be blessed along the rainbow! :)

PurpleFuntastick Creations Guest Designer - Tues Feb. 14th, 2012

Hello Friends and Welcome to my Blog! :)

I have my wonderful friend and guest designer Susan Bermudez as my guest today for our PurpleFuntastick Creations! go check it out...thanks Susan! :)

I am a guest designer for my friend's Kari's Purplefuntastick Creations blog. I had so much fun with this card. I am all about the bling and this butterfly is just too sweet. I know it is not purple but the theme was Valentine's Day. Here is my card:
I received the butterfly and heart bling in an exchange. I used my Creative Memories Double Heart Chain Border. The papers were scraps and the crochet border is from Stampin' Up. The sketch was given to me by my friend Julie and I made this card a Valentine's order. I have several more to do and am looking forward to it. Thanks to Kari for having me as a guest designer today. Please stop by her blog and show her some love...

Until next time...
Susan

Thanks Susan once again for being my guest designer today...and thanks friends for stopping by and as always please be blessed! :)

PurpleFuntastick Creations Guest Designer - Tues Feb. 7th, 2012

Hello Friends and Welcome to my blog! :)

Today is PurpleFuntastick Guest designer day...and I have the wonderful and talented Kimberly Pate of Scrapping Rookie! she is also one of my Purplies! :) Make sure to check out her blog! :) and don't forget to give her the love here and there! :)

Now Kimberly take it away! :)

Today I am honored to be a guest Designer for Kari Sanchez.  I am also one of Kari’s Purplies, so I am having double the fun with my crafting.

Today I would like to share with you a Candy Box I made and decorated. The candy box is a file I got from SVGcuts and is called “One Piece Boxes”.

This is the second box I made. The first one I made from designer paper, and I felt it was too thin and weak to be supportive of the candy I plan to add.  This box is made from a white sheet of ColorBok Paper that I printed through my Print Master application.  Sometimes, I just like to make my own paper.

I embellished my candy box with three tiny silk pink roses, some greenery, and a pink bow. Someday, I hope I learn to make much better bows.

My candy box has four pieces of homemade chocolate candy my husband and I made.  I make candy at Christmas time, however, this is the first time I have made Valentine’s Day candy.  I just buy the Wilton’s heat and melt chips at JoAnn’s.  We melt them in the double boiler in the Wilton squeeze bottles.  This makes it very easy to get the small amounts of liquid into the heart areas. We then top it off with either dark chocolate or milk chocolate, shake the molds to get rid of air bubbles then refrigerate for about 30 minutes.  These are very fast and easy to make.

Thank you Kari for allowing me to share my Valentine’s project with you and your readers.  Thank you for stopping in today, I look forward to reading your comments.

Kimberly

Wow and yummmmmmmmmyyyyyyyyyy! I don't know about you but chocolate gets me every time but the box she put it all in would be fun to open and have too!!! :) what a great job Kimberly and thanks for being my guest designer today! :)
As always friends thanks for stopping by and have a blessed week and don't forget the love! :)

Here is my project and it is a card I made for her...hope she likes it! :)

Recipe: I used a cranberry cardstock that I had in my paper stash...then a scrap of one of my fave printed paper left over from a Theresa Collins collection the used a double sided piece cut in half and each side was used on the card cut to fit card as well...in the middle the white is actually white suede paper so Ashley can touch it...hehe...I stamped a "Happy Birthday" sentiment (HA) and cut the paper to size and then inked it up a bit and then popped dotted it and then I used a ribbon and made a bow and then put a bling gem in the center of it...andof course what is a card without my purple or butterfly so a butterfly was used! voila!...Happy Birthday Ashley! :)

Thanks as always for stopping by and don't forget the love and happy birthday wishes for Ashley today and your next stop is talented Liz.

My post of my Creation !! yes me!! hehe....Feb. 3, 2012

Hello Friends and Welcome to my blog! :)

Today I am posting my project I made for the post to go with my DT but it didn't happen that way for some reason blogger was being a bother again....but as my team yesterday did I used the digi paper and digi designs she has on Friday Freebies day...go check out the blog it is an awesome site...Far Far Hill....now check it out below...

I used a metal file box and decided to use one of the digital prints she had and I just loved the pink paper with the polka dots and then the vintage pics of the little girls so I choose one to be on the box as well and also used a lacy trim and flowers (little ones) that is from one of my favorite online shops...Ooh la la Vintage and I have the button on my right sidebar to take you there....then I embellished with a red flower and a punched out heart (one of my favorite punches I own) and stamped with my sentiment I have from Stampology in red ink and use a red bling gem on it then popped dotted it to a red flower and I did modge podge the papers and lace so it would adhere really good and will last forever...hehe...then to seal it I used my sparkle mode podge...love that and it is one of my gifts mom gave me for Christmas...I am thinking of giving this to my mom for Valentine's day...but I am not sure if she would like this but I think she will...hehe...she loves old things...

As always thanks for stopping by friends and have a blessed weekend! :) Don't forget to come by tomorrow I am in another hop to celeberate Ashley Townsend's birthday! :)
