Popsickle card! how fun is summer!!

Hello Friends!
How are we all doing this summer?...mine is going so fast and with ballgames and cook outs, being with friends and therapy...going to quick for me...lol...but I got to thinking I am going to have a Cold Social where I can treat my friends at my place to ice cream and popsickles and this is the invitation I plan to make ....popsickle cards and isn't that cute!! I learned this trick a few years ago making them with a Stamping Up consultant and she does it differently but I added a few things to mine ....hope you can be inspired to come up with something like that! Have fun and the recipe is below each pic... :)

Vellum was used as a cover and I only had this last one and so I need to get some more but I stamped it and it got a little smudged but I am okay with that and the first thing you have to do is fold it in a A2 card size and make sure you use vellum glue that is available so it holds good and then at the top I crimped it to make it look like a real cover of popsickles you buy at the store ...and when you stamp make sure it dries before touching it or use starz on....I didn't have any so I used reg ink and it takes a while to dry...

Tor the card cut an 8 1/2" x 11" in half like for an A2 card size and then fold it in half then use corner rounder and scissors to make the paper cuts and indentions like a real popsickle

Do the same thing with the white cardstock inside of the popsickle and make sure the indentions and cuts were done the same to save me the trouble of mismatching it I put the white cardstock in while doing the red color cardstock for the popsickle and stamped it then I glued the wht cardstock down to the red but leave the bottom open so you can slide the sticks...you put some glue on the top of the sticks then onto the red cardstock and let it dry for a few mins...then you glue a small amount (I rubbed it on) the top of the sticks....to adhere the wht cardstock and voila!!
Hope you like the cute card I made and have fun having a Cold or Ice Cream Social...hmmm..maybe I should make an ice cream one next....lol...until next time enjoy and have fun! :)

Now onto testimony:

I have had heck of a week and couldn't come up with a project that would go with the love letter below that PaperTree House Studios gave us to use for this hop. Actually took me to the last minute and many messed up projects and finally made a simple card. This Love of God that he has for us touches my heart and reminds me he DOES love me in spite of myself even with all the mistakes I made and my imperfections...I try to do my best in all I do but lately it has been a test to just keep going when I am facing so many trials, the health problems that continues, my latest surgery from my fall I had last year and now therapy upon me next week and not having a car and with my son in his coming year as a Senior and I will soon be an empty single mom nester and I can go on and it is making me tire just writing it ...it is like what about me Lord??? and that is when I realized WAIT!!! what is it that I am NOT doing...then I thought I had a AH HA moment....lol...we do have them occasionally ...lol...I realize I am trying to take care of everything by myself and I am not meant too and I need to let my daddy have the problems and all and I prayed and had to let God have control again and laid everything at his feet because HE DOES LOVE ME!! woot woot! and He LOVES YOU!! But we tend to forget his love for us when time is tough for us and how do we go on when we struggle and all that jazz but he said when we are weary we can lean on him and fly on the wings of eagles...and he reminds us of His love for us when we take the time to focus and by thanksgiving and prayers that he is there with us even when we feel like we are in a desert and have more than we think we can handle and yet we keep pushing on because of his love and strength! Remember you are NEVER alone and HE LOVES YOU forever! You are his child and a child of a king!! What greater love or place can we be if not in his Wings! I am so thankful to my Lord and his love that endures forever! It is a wonderful feeling that I am loved.

Please read the love letter God wants you to know! :)

Then check out my card I made for a friend who has been battling depression and I intend to give her the copy of this love letter inside to remind her of His Love for her and from me too! :)

Stamped in blue some simple butterflies around the flowers (got to have the butterflies...Smile)

Guest Designer June 22nd

Hello Friends,

Hope you are having a great summer so far! :) Thanks for stopping by and today's post features my Guest designer, my wonderful friend Faith. She is a very talented designer and a wonderful friend! :) So please giver her some love and check out her blog and I am so thrilled to have her here today. :) Eek! ...

Please leave a comment to let her how she did and visit her blog. And now...here's Faith:

Thanks Kari! I'm honored to be asked to contribute to your blog as a guest designer. Wanna know a little secret....this is my FIRST guest designer position!!!! I hope I don't disappoint!

Lemme first begin with a little bit about myself just in case your readers don't know who I am. Four years ago I escaped a domestic violence and I now go both in and by FAITH! I am a proud single mom to 4 of the most incredibly smart, beautiful, and patient (they'd have to be to have me as their mom with all of my mistakes) children EVER! I am currently in school full-time and, like Kari, purple is my all time FAVORITE color ever. If you want to know more about me, please visit my blog. I'm too lazy to copy and paste the About Me information, let alone re-type it all!

My good friend Kari asked me to do something Father's Day or Wedding themed. I needed to do both anyway so it was kind of perfect actually. I might not get to the Father's Day card today, but I did make a wedding card for a friend of mine's daughter who got married recently. Please forgive the photo...even with my light box the photo doesn't do the card justice.

I sure do hope my friend's daughter will like it. Her colors were pale pink, champagne, and white I think and this color scheme was really a challenge. Pink is not my favorite color. The family is also very high class/sophisticated and so I knew nothing "cutsie" would do. Thankfully my eCraft allows me to do elegant with ease!

Supplies Needed:
eCraft
In Love SD Card
Pink Beaded Ribbon (I got mine at Hancock Fabric and Crafts)
Lacey Ovals from Spellbinders
Classic Ovals from Spellbinders
Manual Die Cutting Machine (I used my Cuttlebug)
Lace (also from Hancock's)
A2 Card Base (DCWV Linen and Lace stack)
5.25 x 4 mat (DCWV Linen and Lace stack)
Scraps for Spellbinders cuts (both the lacey oval and pink oval are colorbok paper)
Tulle for veil
Scrap paper for silhouette cuts (mine is from Core'dinations)
Ink (I used Tim Holtz Vintage Photo)
Sentiment (Verve and offhand I forget which set)
Adhesive (ATG and foam squares)

I rounded my corners on the mat, sponged the Vintage Photo on the edges, cut and layered the ovals and added the lace and ribbon to the background mat before adhering it to the card base. I cut the couple on my eCraft using the In Love SD card at I think 3.5 inches. I very lightly inked the edges of this cut to make it stand out against the pink a little better. You probably can't even tell...that was intentional lol! I used some tulle to give the bride a veil and stamped the sentiment using Vintage Photo as well. My sentiment is not quite perfect and it aggravates me. I wasn't going to use a stamp at all and then the spot the sentiment is in just looked so naked without it so I added it later. The problem was those dang beads on the pink ribbon got in the way and so I didn't get as clean of an impression as I would have liked (maybe the recipient won't even notice), but overall I'm still very happy with the result!

I may be back still with a Father's Day project...I do have to make a card for my Daddy but chores and errands and a bunch of other things might need some attention too.

Thanks Kari for inviting me to be a guest designer for you! I would love to do it again some time...and now back to you:

Thanks again for stopping by and giving us both some love and have a wonderful week!

In His Love,
Be Inspired,
Kari

Hello Friends!

But before I get carried away I am in several blog hops this weekend so make sure you are at the right one otherwise scroll down for Thank the Troops Blog Hop if you want to go there otherwise this is the right place if you are checking out Creative EdVentures Blog Hop and I am thrilled to be a part of this party!! I felt like a kid doing these stamps....it is fun to color...I used my water color pencils ...check it out below....Thanks Roberta for letting me a part of this exciting new EdVenture ;) and I look forward to doing more for you in the future!! :)

All weekend, starting at 9 A.M. Eastern time ( 6 AM Pacific, 7 AM Mountain, 8 AM Central) we invite you to visit our blog and all the blogs of all the designers to see what beautiful creations they have for you to enjoy.
Sue Miller and Queen Kat Designs are generously sponsoring this hop and you have a chance to win some wonderful blog hop candy after you visit. Some of the participating designers will ALSO have blog candy of their own to give you.

We just hope you take the time to visit everyone on the list and see what they have made for you.

What do you have to do to be eligible for the main prizes??
Visit every designer on the list - Become a Follower of their blog (not mandatory, but always welcome)
Leave a comment on their blog hop entry.
*Note; if an individual designer is offering candy JUST for their blog, make sure you follow whatever rules they have on their blog.

When you have visited ALL the designers, you will return HERE to the Creative EdVentures homepage and Leave a Comment here about the Hop, certain designers, Sue Miller's images..
We love feedback and want to know what you thought of our first hop.

We will post the winners names and comments HERE on our homepage.

Good news~ Unlike many other blog hops, we WILL contact YOU if you win. Just make sure you include your email addy in any comment you leave. Individual designer blog prizes will be handled by them personally and not through Creative EdVentures.

Here is my card I made with the digi stamps and the recipe below it....I hope you enjoy my card and be inspired to try digi stamps like I did...I promise you will have fun!

The digi stamp is the Girl Knock at Door ...I use all of my water coloring pencils to color it since I don't own very many markers (although my dream is to own some Copics soon) and then I embossed several areas of the green with green embossing powder and then I stickled most of the flowers with several colors I own mostly red, pink and yellow. Then I add a pretty pink ribbon and embellish the bow with sticky gems like I did on the right side on bottom of card.
Then I put a butterfly in the midst of that climbing greenery. I wanted to make it look old fashion and I think I accomplished that.

Thanks for checking out my card and I will have two more new cards to show you tomorrow. And of course you want to see what the Blog candy looks like since I have not posted a pic of it yet...giggles....

Thanks for stopping by...and you didn't think I would forget blog candy didn't you ...giggles...please make a comment and leave y0ur email otherwise I will have to draw another name and please become a follower if you want and grab my button if you have a blog of your own and I would be tickled purple!! :)

Have a blessed weekend! :)

I want to thank Maria "Gonescraphappy" Delgado for having me on this hop and I am honored to be making cards for our heroes! We are giving our cards to the Soldier Angels for the troops and if you need more information please go to the website www.soldierangels.org

Here are my cards:

Recipe:
Card #1 was very simple...I used some flag material I had for another project and I love the 3D effect it has so I simply pasted it down with my ATG and then I stamped the sentiment and popped it with dots for each part and layered upon each other. Inside I do have a sentiment thanking our Hero for his sacrifice.

Card #2 I used my ribbon as a embellishment and the stamped "God Bless America" (by Verve) and popped it up with a pop up dot on top of the ribbon and then I stamped three different stars from the same stamp set as the sentiment in blue Ink to make it stand out on the red and then on two of them I put a yellow button on it...to match the middle like a star of its own.

Thanks for stopping by and I do have blog candy! I have stickers to give away....these are wonderful for Scrapping LOs or even for other projects...just make sure you post a comment and give me an email address if you don't I will draw again...I am having problems with people not giving an email and claiming the prize and that is not fair to others who hop. Thanks and I would be honored if you followed me and also take my button if you have a blog of your own. :)

Thanks for stopping by and hope you were inspired and come back to visit me again...

Hi I'm Jackie. I'm fortunate enough to be married to a man I adore, who's also my best friend. I'm the mother to 3 children I love with all my heart and also an extremely over weight yellow lab (who doesn't know she's a dog) . I love scrap booking ,card making and crafting. I've scrap booked for years but never made a card or a mini till the last 3 months. I just love doing them now.

This is a card I made for my Dad. I wanted it to be as personal as possible and still look nice. So I added some little dots and stitching by hand. It's a standard a2 card.I used a stamp for sentiment on front and inside. My Dad is a Vet so I used red, white and blue plus I think those colors just scream out HERO. My dad has Alzheimer's disease so everyday that I spend with him is special. My Dad always called me Jack Rabbit as a nick name, but as his disease has progressed it's became my "name" the only one he can remember sometimes. Alot of people asked me why I named my blog Jack Rabbit Scrappin'...well that's why I chose it, kind of in honor of my Dad. I hope you like the card and I hope you and your family have a Blessed Father's Day.

Thank you Kari for the opportunity to be a guest on your Blog. It's been fun.

Thanks Jackie for a wonderful card and great job!!! :)

Guest Designer Friday June 10, 2011!

Ok, I know it's not Friday and this isn't Kari but I was just too excited being asked to be a Guest Designer for my very first time!!!
Update on Kari is the doctor would like her to get out of sling and start moving around and exercising. She is in some pain but is doing well. Keep the prayers and good wishes coming for our dear friend!
My name is Lynne Kirsch and I'm new to all of this blogging but have been following hops for at least 6 months. I have my very first blog which was only started recently per Kari assuring me that I could do it at Her Craftiness (http://slasewcraftiness.blogspot.com/) and would love for you to check me out and follow me in my journey!!! I'm married to Jerry and with our blended family we have 3 beautiful daughters, Jenny (my daughter), Barbara and Jean and 1 son, Jerry Jr. Of this we have 8 grandchildren!!! Kasha (14), Ashliana (11), Zack (6), Sasha (5), Nick (4), Jerry III (3), Ashley (1), and Lily who is 3 months old! I have been sewing and quilting for many many years and just a recent graduate to card making within the past year when I became the proud owner of my Cricut! I love making cards and of course watching my grandbabies!!!!
Today, I would love to share with you my "Exploding Box" which I had made with the help of Kasha and Ashliana for Jerry Jr and his lovely bride Julie when they got married February 26th of this year. I love making expoding boxes and had made them for Thanksgiving and Christmas with prayers enclosed in the center and they are ever sew easy! I love the look of black and white and the girls wanted the turquoise - makes a great complimentary color!. The bow on top was from a ribbon I had found in the Dollar Store and paper is from La Creme Stack (the black) with the turquoised Me and My Big Ideas (that paper title just suits me to a "T". I used my Circut cartridges Ties the Knot and Wedding. The pattern for the exploding box can be found on Make the Cut with the patterns or I would be happy to send you a copy! The lettering is also cut from Make the Cut which I love to play with and then add shadows. Hope you enjoy!

Thank you Kari for this opportunity and your trust!!! I had a blast!!!

Love, hugs and prayers from not only your Guest Designer but Kari's temporary fill-in

Lynne
